Privacy & Cookie Policy

What personal data this site collects, why, how long we keep it, which cookies are used and how to exercise your rights under GDPR and KVKK.

This policy is a template and should be reviewed by the site owner before publication.

This policy explains what personal data gumuslukbodrum.com collects when you visit, why we collect it and what your rights are. It is written with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Türkiye’s Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK) in mind.

Who we are

This website is run by the team behind Hespera Suites in Gümüşlük, Bodrum, Muğla, Türkiye. For the purposes of GDPR and KVKK, we are the data controller for the personal data described below. You can contact us at hello@gumuslukbodrum.com.

What we collect and why

We collect as little as we can.

Contact form messages

When you write to us by form or email, we receive your name, email address and whatever your message contains. We use this only to reply to you and, where relevant, to correct or improve our guides. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering your enquiry, or steps taken at your request.

Newsletter (only if you subscribe)

If you sign up for our newsletter, we store your email address and the date you subscribed. We use it only to send the newsletter. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to us.

Analytics (only if enabled)

If analytics are enabled, we use them to understand, in aggregate, which pages are read and how people find us. Analytics that rely on cookies run only after you consent through the cookie banner. We do not use them to identify individual visitors.

Server logs

Our hosting server automatically records technical information when you load a page: your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. These logs are used for security, to prevent abuse and to fix errors, and are deleted after a limited period. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

Maps, fonts and embedded content

  • Maps. Our maps load tiles from OpenStreetMap servers. To deliver them, those servers receive your IP address and basic browser information, as with any web request. OpenStreetMap’s own privacy policy applies to that data.
  • Fonts. Our fonts are hosted on our own server, so no font provider receives your data.
  • Embedded content. Some pages may include content from Instagram or YouTube. These services may set cookies and collect data under their own privacy policies. Where possible, embeds load only after you consent or click to view them.

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies, for example to remember your language and your cookie choices. These do not require consent.

Any non-essential cookies, such as analytics or third-party embeds, are set only if you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer, and you can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

How long we keep data

  • Contact messages: for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and no longer than two years after our last exchange.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
  • Server logs: for a short period, usually a few weeks, unless needed to investigate a security incident.

Sharing and international transfers

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as far as necessary with providers who help us run the site, such as hosting, email and newsletter services. Some of these providers may store data outside Türkiye or the European Economic Area. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards required by GDPR and by Article 9 of KVKK.

Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Under Article 11 of KVKK you have the right to learn whether your personal data is processed, request information about it, learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used accordingly, know the third parties it is transferred to in Türkiye or abroad, request its correction, deletion or destruction and the notification of these to such third parties, object to a result against you arising solely from automated processing, and claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing. After applying to us first, you may also file a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Board (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurulu).

We will respond to requests within 30 days.
